If we want to apologize for something, we have to say "sorry." When we apologize while coupling the same with excuse, justifications, and concerns, we are unwilling to regret and still do not consider it our mistake. In our hearts, we always know where we stand, and hence anything outside of it is merely an attempt to salvage our reputation.
