We call 'Gandhi' the father of the nation. While for the academia, we like to remember him this way, over time, all the values that he taught us (simplicity, integrity, self-belief, non-violence, respect for all) have lost their significance in the clamour of amplified issues around religion, caste, politics and sundry. For several years, we were facilitating him at least once a year despite of the fact that our actions and reflections were always contrary to the beliefs he discoursed. Today, on his birth anniversary, we have touched a new high(low?) by having his assassin being respected with his action being fostered on social media. We could have a difference of ideologies but guess on this, the blind followers of the Demi-Gods have gone way too far.
