All we can come to know about the Swiss Bank Accounts :-)

What are Swiss bank accounts? Swiss bank accounts, are just like any other bank account, albeit the heightened security through sophisticated security systems and absolute privacy offered by Swiss banks. All Swiss banks are regulated by the Swiss Federal Banking Commission and serve clients from all over the world. What kinds of customers are allowed to open a Swiss bank account? Just like a normal bank, almost any individual can open a Swiss bank account. Swiss bank accounts aren't just for millionaires, criminals or government officials trying to hide ill-gotten wealth, or celebrities protecting their assets from former spouses. They're available to anyone and average people, too, have Swiss bank accounts. People who live in countries with unstable governments and banks in particular often turn to Swiss banks because of their security and privacy. How does a Swiss Bank account work? A non-Swiss national must be at least 18 years of age to open an account in a Swiss bank. The ...

AAAATMMMMMssss

History of free ATM usage Before April 1, 2009, if you had to use the ATM of any bank with whom you don't have any banking relationship, you ended up paying fees. It meant you had to find the closest ATM belonging to your bank to withdraw cash and make balance inquiries. So RBI introduced a directive to the banks to allow free use of ATM machines irrespective of which bank a customer had accounts with. This meant that irrespective of which bank you bank with, you could use any other bank's ATM free of cost. However the banks were only to charge for the cash withdrawal made by the customers by using their credit cards, while cash withdrawal on debit card was made free. So with effect from April 1, 2009, you could withdraw cash from any ATM free of charge. Banks make a loss However, this has not worked out in the favour of banks. Earlier when the use of ATM was not free, the interchange fee was borne by the customers. This fee covered the expenses incurred by both the concerned b...

Do we have a mirror???

I talked abt Change, almost in every post i wrote , Be it connected to me, my house , abt the things, abt the scenario... Change is Law of Life, Now i m talkin abt the change in ppl. A lot many say tht i have changed myself , some say it in positive aspect and for very few knights it is a point of criticism.. They say it because they have got a topic to utter against me... I know i have changed... But its not a complete sentence... TRUTH is - I HAVE CHANGED FOR THE PPL WHO HAVE CHANGED FOR ME, FOR THOSE WHO HAVE REIMAGINED ME IN TO SOME NEW PERSONA. Well, i m in no mood to complain abt the ppl who have changed or the ones who think i have changed, i still find them the same human souls as they used to be for me earlier, i m no one to decide who actually is right or wrong, cause i know just one thing... Everyone possesses a mirror to see what his activities are upto and whether he is right or wrong. Everyone has a well developed thought process to see the difference between truth and di...

Ab bhi i thought around ten times, on the things tht i should write... Well, for me professionally , the year started with one of the greates...

Impact of Recent Monetary Review of RBI

Measures: Cut in repo & reverse repo rates by 25 bps Impact: Though banks are reluctant to cut rates, some will prune their deposit rates within a month; rates for certificate of deposit (CD) were already down on Tuesday. Lending rates could soften at a later stage. Measures: Payment of interest on savings bank account on a daily product basis, wef April 1, 2010 Impact: Savers will get more out of their savings account and banks’ total payout would be much more. So, if an investor parks Rs 2 lakh and withdraws it 2 days later, she will get interest for two days instead of the lowest balance between 10th and 30th of a month. Measures: Review BPLR system; make credit pricing more transparent Impact: RBI wants banks to lower the prime lending rate (PLR), so that the interest rate comes down not just for new borrowers but also for existing corporates and individuals (like home and car loan borrowers). Measures: Up to Rs 1-crore loans against NRI deposits Impact: Currently, loan...

Highlights of the Budget

The Interim  Budget  does not have any major announcements that affect the industry, except for some measures such as extension of interest subsidy (on pre- and postshipment credit) to boost exports in sectors such as textiles, leather and gems & jewellery. A slew of measures were announced as part of the stimulus packages in early December 2008 and January 2009.  While some of these measures are positive for the respective sectors, the excise duty reduction (by 4%) across sectors has been mostly passed on to consumers. In the following sections, we assess the impact of all these measures, including announcements in the Interim  Budget , if any Automobiles The net impact of various policy changes is marginally positive across auto segments.  However, lower economic growth prospects, weak consumer sentiment, high interest rates and stringent disbursement norms will continue to impact automobile demand.  Due to the 4% reduction in excise duty announced in December 2008, and lower fue...
