Apologise or explain

If we want to apologize for something, we have to say "sorry."    When we apologize while coupling the same with excuse, justifications, and concerns, we are unwilling to regret and still do not consider it our mistake. In our hearts, we always know where we stand, and hence anything outside of it is merely an attempt to salvage our reputation. Sometimes the larger damage done is to feed into our egos and manage a state of perception that we want to maintain socially  -- Sent from my iPad

Impress

The more we speak to impress, the more we expose ourselves to vulnerabilities as the in need to influence, we may end up drifting to messaging which is open-ended and vague.    Powerful communication is always straight from the heart, direct, and never designed to impress  -- Sent from my iPad

Anxieties

Our continuous issues and anxieties are an outcome of trying everything in excess. We have been talking a lot, doing stretched work, sharing and consuming a lot of content, and above all, thinking too much. Somewhere the charm of doing things optimally or in scarcity is lost, and hence we always have the problem of plenty -- Sent from my iPad

No politics

I agree that the situation we are in doesn't need to get politicized. In a crisis, there's also no point blaming any person, political affiliation, or a state government. What matters here is to be all ears to the difficulties our friends and family are into and somehow sweep through this turbulence at the quickest. Important to keep aside our ideological debates and reckon that it is our closed network that helps us the difficult times and brings courage to stay optimistic and hopeful.  -- Sent from my iPad

If they cared for you

If they cared for you, they wouldn't have asked you for self-damaging actions; if they were worried for your health; they wouldn't have transformed a divine feeling into a political drama; if they were concerned, they wouldn't have glorified the enthusiasm of crowd emerging into election rallies. Not acting in time and politicizing gatherings in the name of religion has only shown us our worth in their eyes. It's not about support machinery anymore; it's about a few politicians who do not consider us more than vote bank. Even if something happens tomorrow, it's only a number that will be tagged to us. If not for yourself, think for the million frontline folks struggling to keep us alive and healthy. Please stop being a dumb stooge and resist ridiculous activities accelerating the virus spread, even if it means not listening to someone you know very well. #wakeup #maskup #staysafe Sent from my iPhone

India today

I may sound like a pseudo critic, but this is India in my view. There's a head of country who's running after mics and that has become his priority. There are state governments who are happy reporting an eye pleasing statistic because they don't want their reputation to dent. There's an opposition which is trying to beat the Comedy Central and then there's a virus which has become rogue and "aatmanirbhar" when it comes to its prosperity. There are people who still want to believe that Covid is an exaggeration and all this is crap. So god bless us all

High time

It is high time that people own up to spreading this virus and stop blaming China or anything based on our political liking. While the last year was more about being cautious and staying protected indoors, there's no denying that Covid has now infiltrated into most houses(including us last week when we tested positive, thanks to God, our family, and friends that we are recovering and holding up well). If there is something that we can do about it is not to take it casually. There's a need for us to know all home therapies and potential cures, but at the same time, we must follow the right medical protocols, not resort only to the WhatsApp forwards. The situation in the bigger cities is not great despite being equipped with good infrastructure, economic power, resources, and great attention from media and government alike. Covid doesn't discriminate based on region, religion, or social status; hence, it is foolish to assume that the smaller cities or bigger houses can dodge ...

Traffic issues

What do you think we need to do to solve for the Indian traffic woes? A crash course on traffic rules(we, the educated folks, need most) A detox program to deflate the bulging egos of neo rich(again, we, the educated folks) Just common sense and respect for others and their time(once again, we , the educated folks lack it) -- Sent from my iPad

Tanishq ad

I couldn't fathom that Tanishq had to take down the Ekatvam advertisement. How can a well designed, and rightly intended message oppose the harmony? Some of us have lost it completely, and for our survival, it has become important to bring hate in everything that fosters togetherness and could unsettle their "divide and rule" led businesses. I am at a loss to understand their logic that ~80% of the country's population is under risk, and such messages exaggerate this threat. -- Sent from my iPad

The big bull

Awestruck by the fantastic effort put up by the team of "Scam 1992-the Harshad Mehta Story". Quite a balanced account of the wrongdoings and loopholes the system had in the pre-digital financial markets arena. Of course, the events had colossal damages on the life of people; it is hard to concur that a single man amongst the army of government regulators could pull off something like this. For someone like me who has just read and not necessarily experienced this, it is effortless to put things on to the manners and prevailing practices rather than singling out the man in question. I so wanted to reflect on the statement he made in the interview "I don't want bouquets but don't give me brickbats".  -- Sent from my iPad
